How It Works
Using fluoroscopic guidance, the physician places a needle into the cervical facet joint and injects a combination of anesthetic and steroid. This serves as both diagnosis (confirming the facet joint is the pain source[1]) and treatment.

What to Expect
15-30 minute procedure. You may notice immediate neck pain relief from the anesthetic. A driver is required.
Afterward
Recovery
Pain relief begins immediately from the anesthetic and develops further over 2-7 days as the steroid takes effect.
