How It Works

Hyaluronic acid — a naturally occurring substance in joint fluid — is injected into the knee joint space. It acts as a lubricant and shock absorber, improving joint mechanics and reducing pain and stiffness.

What to Expect

5-10 minute office procedure. Depending on the product, may be given as a single injection or a series of 3-5 weekly injections.

Recovery

Resume normal activities immediately. Avoid high-impact activities for 48 hours.

Duration of Relief

Up to 6 months per treatment cycle. Can be repeated every 6 months as needed.
