Stem Cell Therapy for Back & Spine
Stem cell therapy for back and spine conditions targets the root causes of chronic spinal pain — disc degeneration, facet joint arthritis, and ligament instability — by delivering concentrated regenerative cells directly to damaged spinal structures. This approach offers patients with degenerative disc disease and chronic back pain a biological treatment option that targets the tissue itself rather than simply masking symptoms.
Conditions Treated
Degenerative disc disease, facet joint arthritis, sacroiliac joint dysfunction, chronic low back pain, mild disc herniations, spinal ligament instability, failed back surgery syndrome (select cases)
How It Works
Autologous stem cells are harvested from bone marrow and concentrated. Under fluoroscopic guidance, the regenerative concentrate is precisely injected into the target structure — whether intradiscal (into the degenerating disc), intra-articular (into facet or SI joints), or along damaged ligaments. The stem cells are aimed at the disc, the surrounding cartilage and the stability of the segment.
What to Expect
60-120 minute procedure depending on the number of levels treated. Performed under fluoroscopy with local anesthesia and light sedation. Go home the same day. Expect mild back soreness for 1-2 weeks.
Recovery
Light activity restrictions for 1-2 weeks. Avoid heavy lifting for 4-6 weeks. Physical therapy begins at 2-4 weeks. Full activity at 8-12 weeks.
Duration of Relief
Disc results depend a great deal on the state of the disc itself, which is why we go through your MRI and everything you have already tried before suggesting it.
