The sacroiliac (SI) joints connect the base of the spine to the pelvis. An inflamed or poorly moving SI joint produces low-back and buttock pain that can closely mimic a spine problem, so care starts with a diagnostic injection that answers the question directly.
From there the options escalate only as far as needed: therapeutic injections, radiofrequency ablation of the joint's small sensory nerves, and — where instability keeps bringing the pain back — minimally invasive fusion or SACRIX stabilization.
