Epidural Injections
Image-guided steroid injections into the epidural space — at every level of the spine.
An epidural injection delivers corticosteroid, usually with a local anesthetic, into the epidural space — the sleeve of tissue that surrounds the spinal nerve roots. When a disc problem or a narrowed canal inflames those roots, pain often follows the nerve into an arm or a leg, and the injection treats that inflammation at its source.
The family differs by level and by route. Interlaminar injections bathe the epidural space broadly; a transforaminal injection follows one specific nerve root through its exit opening; a caudal injection enters through the sacral hiatus at the tailbone. Which approach fits depends on where your pain travels and what your imaging shows — all are performed under fluoroscopic guidance.
