Nerve Blocks
Precise anesthetic and steroid injections at the nerves that carry your pain.
A nerve block places local anesthetic — often with a corticosteroid — directly at the nerve or nerve cluster transmitting pain. It treats the pain, and it is a test at the same time: relief tells us precisely which nerve is responsible, and the next treatment is chosen from that result.
This is the practice's broadest family, and each member is named for the territory it serves: the occipital nerves at the back of the skull, the stellate ganglion and lumbar sympathetic chain, the celiac and hypogastric plexuses for abdominal and pelvic pain, the intercostal nerves along the ribs, the genicular nerves of the knee, and more.
